State of the Theater - Update

Hello again! Last week I wrote the first status report for The Open Theater (which surprisingly has some of the highest reads of any article I have written). This week, I have made a few more changes that I want to let all you know about moving forward so hopefully I won't have to do these as frequently as these past two. Let's get right into it, shall we?

Frequency of Posting

So, I know this week has so far been fairly steady with the content I am producing, but I quickly realized that if I continued at this pace I would most likely hit a wall where I am writing at a pace quicker than what I can watch at.  An article a day simply is too much at this moment. My goal moving forward is to put out at the minimum four articles a week. Most of these articles will come out on weekdays, as I'm trying to write articles and schedule upload dates so that I'm not nightly crunching to have something done by my usually times.

Time of Upload

This is fairly simple in the grand scheme of things, for future articles expected them to be at noon on weekdays (when most will be posted), but for weekends there will be variance. Also if something is an immediate upload it will go up as finished, not at a scheduled time.

Content Types Moving Forward

Last week I made mention of spicing up the type of content I am posting, and I've already begun to do this. Below I'll list out all of my planned types of articles I plan to write with a short explanation of each:

Review - Simple. We all know what a review is so I won't waste time.

Discussion - These types of articles will spend more time discussing an episode of television or a movie that I don't believe deserve a scored value to say whether it is worth checking into. The majority of times these will be seen moving forward is if I begin to discuss certain episodes of television weekly, perhaps starting with the Runaways and a few others.

Recap - Looking back on an episode of television or a film and discussing what happened. I'm not a huge fan of these so don't expect them often, but if they come they usually are about something I'm really passionate about (Crisis on Earth-X).

Opinion - This is one I'm really looking forward to. My friends will tell you that I have A LOT of opinions. I constantly am expressing my thoughts on topics in the film world with them and my family and often times with myself. This will be an outlet for me to discuss general topics in these industries and get feedback from the readers (if they so choose).

News - I don't intend to use these often, but if I ever see something pop up in the film world that I believe is worth a quick discussion: this is the article type I would classify it under.

New Page Incoming - What to Watch

This idea came of a friend of mine. It's fairly simple: create a page for anyone to check out if they're in a pinch and want to check out a new show or movie. The idea here is that I will categorize content I've reviewed (and some I haven't) into sections where a reader can quickly determine something they want to watch. I believe this will be a huge help for any readers and I will try to keep it updated as often as possible. I don't know an exact ETA on this page's completion (it may be done by the time this is out!), but it will be out soon and I will make it known on social media as I do with all of my content.

New Media Incoming - Gaming

OK hear me out. I don't intend to do this as frequently as I do movies and television as completing a game is too long, and in general keeping up with the gaming industry is just too complicated. I simply want all of my readers to know that in the future it can be expected that I will start content involving gaming in some respect using any of the above article formats.

Upcoming Articles

Now that all of those updates are out of the way, I want to give everyone a quick sneak peak into what's coming some from me and some farther out content that is still to come!

As noticed from the last time I made a posting, there are multiple articles I don't list here as they simply come into view as days progress and the content I'm checking into changes (I can't give away all my secrets!). Some of these articles are still listed from the last update, but as you can their dates have been pushed out. This is simply due to the fact that some seasons are ending soon and I believe the best means to judge is with the full sample size.

Conclusion

Thank you all once again for checking into this "State of the Theater!" I know it's a cheesy name but it fits! Hopefully you all enjoy the changes I'm making to make my website a better experience for you all, and I look forward to speaking to you all again very soon!
